Lindsey Kuhn started his art early. In high school he made flyers for the local punk shows and skate contests in Mississippi; he continued his art journey through college in the University of South Alabama. Lindsey moved to Texas in 1990 and got a job in a silk-screen sweatshop.

While his stint working at the shop, he'd escaped the daily toil by attending shows, skating and partying - this is when he'd meet Debbie Jacobson of L'imagerie Gallery and began working for her. During the time with he would printed posters for Frank Kozik, Robert Williams, Robert Crumb, Big Daddy Roth, The Pizz, Sukalski, Suzanne Williams, and more. In 1991, Lindsey began his printing press to produce his own artwork, where SWAMP was later born.
