Baron Wolman (June 25, 1937–November 2,2020) was an American photographer best known for his work in the late 1960’s for the music magazine Rolling Stone, becoming the magazine’s first editor of photography from 1967 to 1970.

He is ranked among the 20th Century’s elite and most collectible photographers. As the first photographer of Rolling Stone Magazine he was granted unique access to rock ‘n’ rolls most eponymous and notorious emerging icons from Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, to Jimi Hendrix.

Few photographers rode the roller-coaster ride of the 60’s alongside the icons of that age like Wolman. He was awarded as a VIP at the 2011 Classic Rock Roll of Honor Awards, smashing a camera on stage in homage to Pete Townsend.

This photo show the Allman Brothers Band auditing for Phil Walden. The FIRST time they ALL played together.
