About Miss Amy Jo:
As a kid growing up up in North Dakota, I looked forward to spending every summer at the lake with my family. Back then life was simple and the idea of becoming a ballerina or a cowgirl seemed entirely possible. My big brother and I would run around in swimsuits lighting firecrackers and sneaking sips of my Dad’s beer. I usually ended up with a blistering sunburn but it was always totally worth it.
Alas, I didn’t become a cowgirl or a ballerina. Horses are kind of scary and I can’t balance on one foot very well. So I went to college and learned about art instead. Now I live in a big metropolis where I design and screen print posters, record covers and fine art. Although I hardly ever run around in a swimsuit or dink beer, I still enjoy summers at the lake, lighting firecrackers and dreaming of cowgirls.
My work has been published in The Art of Modern Rock, Panda Meat, The Utne Reader, Gasoline magazine, Underworld magazine and the upcoming Gingko Press release Lucky Disasters in Printing. You can find my posters/prints on display at my storefront studio, Who Made Who, as well as art galleries, design museums, rock venues and dive bars throughout the world.
