Though only open from 1989 to 1997, the LA venue Jabberjaw has had one of the most enduring legacies in independent music. Located just north of South Central in the Arlington Heights neighborhood, putting it miles away from the Sunset Strip-based hair metal that ruled LA. Jabberjaw served as a gathering place for kids who might not have fit into a specific genre & wanted to build a place for themselves.
